Introduction

The foundation is set up by a group of like-minded Malaysians who are keen to see the concept of 1Malaysia, which is guided by the Federal Constitution, become central in the lives of all Malaysians.

Yayasan 1Malaysia was established in July 2009 as a non-partisan, independent, and non-profit foundation.

Vision:

To engage all Malaysians in working towards national unity and the 1Malaysia concept.

Mission:

Yayasan 1Malaysia is dedicated to develop, support and spearhead activities and programmes promoting national unity

Area Of Focus:

In achieving its objectives, Yayasan 1Malaysia will be involved in 4 core areas:

• Development of programmes for national unity
• Promotion, engagement and support for selected civil society activities
• Promotion of public awareness and participation via selected communication channels, especially the Internet
• Research and engagement in key policy areas including national unity issues

Objectives

To promote a Malaysia that is united in its diversity by:

• Providing access, engagement and support for public sectors and civil society involvement in tackling key social issues across the spectrum of Malaysian society
• Establishing and developing programmes for national unity development
• Providing policy input on national unity and other critical public policy issues via economic, social and political research/analyses as well as engagement with key stakeholders
• Encouraging public awareness and participation in critical social development and public policy issues and programmes

Activities

Yayasan 1Malaysia will focus on 3 main activities:

• Engagement and support for civil society groups in charitable and nation-building activities
• Research and dialogue on public policy issues, especially relating to matters of national unity
• Communication of the 1Malaysia concept through various media, including the Yayasan’s website (Yayasan1Malaysia.org) and social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube
